This never created a problem for me and I never noticed it until I removed the forend. After removing the forend, I did notice a small crack in the wood where the forend would meet the gun barrel. This shotgun was hunted with and used for target shooting up until a few years ago. more sales and you tube to try and get correct names for parts. Even though I am a hunter, I am not a gun person so if I incorrectly describe a piece, please let me know. I will be listing more parts from the same shotgun so be sure to keep checking back. Rather than sell the gun outright, I have found it is easier for me to part it out as I do not wish to have strangers coming to my house to purchase a gun.
